BEN SPIES AND HJC : NOW IN MOTO GP

Spies makes his mark on Moto GP
The 2010 Moto GP season debuted on a high note for HJC rider, American Ben Spies. In his fi rst race as a full-time Moto GP racer on the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team alongside fellow Texan Colin Edwards, Spies fi nished an impressive fi fth at Qatar. The momentum gained early by Spies unfortunately came to a halt at the Spanish GP at Jerez where he was sidelined by a mechanical issue. The following round on the fabled Le Mans circuit in France didn’t go much better: Spies crashed out while running strong. He rebounded in Italy, fi nishing seventh despite a sprained ankle. Three weeks later at the British GP at Silverstone, Spies posted a career best third—his fi rst of what will undoubtedly be many trips to the podium. A week later in Assen at the Dutch GP, he fi nished fourth—the third time in a row he fi nished as the top American in the World Championship.

With only six Moto GPs under his belt this season, Spies has already shown the world that he has what it takes to run up front with the best riders in the world.
